Bookkeeper

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial records for a client in the e-commerce or retail sector. The ideal candidate has working knowledge of QuickBooks and is excited to develop expertise in retail-specific bookkeeping practices: COGS tracking, supplier invoicing, seasonal trends, and promotional event accounting. This is a foundational role with clear paths to grow into Senior Bookkeeper or Accountant.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, manage, and maintain all bookkeeping functions in QuickBooks

• Customize QuickBooks features for retail and e-commerce financial transactions and reporting

• Facilitate and oversee data entry, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls

• Generate financial reports specific to e-commerce and retail operations: revenue, expenditures, COGS

• Provide financial performance insights factoring in seasonal trends and promotional events

• Manage supplier and vendor invoicing, payment schedules, and supply-chain financial interactions

• Perform periodic financial reviews to ensure budget adherence and financial health

• Prepare documentation and reports for internal and external audit processes

• Reconcile bank, credit card, and merchant accounts (Shopify, Amazon, Stripe payouts)

Required Qualifications

• Fully fluent in English

• Working knowledge of QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop) for retail/e-commerce settings

• Familiarity with the retail and e-commerce sectors

• Comfortable with apps and technology

• Ability to commit long-term and full-time

• Ability to work U.S. business hours (PT, CT, or ET)

• No prior work experience is required, but any bookkeeping experience is an advantage

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Experience reconciling Shopify, Amazon, or Stripe transactions

• Familiarity with A2X, Bench, or similar e-commerce accounting integrations
